George's world seems pretty small.
He doesn't have a big family around him at home - just me. Which probably doesn't help.
He does warm up to people with time and patience, and once he does, his love and trust is very strong!
His current circle of trust:
- His vet/vet behaviourist
- His trainer
- His physio (probably the fastest to gain entry into the circle 😆)
- All the staff at his regular daycare
- The staff at his new boarding place (recently gained entry)
- 4-5 of my close friends
- My Mum and Dad (I'm hoping entry gained last year still stands!)
If I added up all the people, it would actually be quite a lot. Come to think of it, his circle of trust is probably wider than mine!
I think it does him good to continue to learn that people are generally safe, and to continue to expand his circle.
I'd love him to be the type of dog that generally loves people - like he used to be. His first day report card at a daycare said he loved the people, not too bothered about the dogs.
Seems like a dream now. Indifference to dogs would be amazing.
I don't think he will ever love people outside of his circle of trust but if he can tolerate their existence, that would be a big win!
