We've had a few good days in a row recently.
I'm using a daily mood tracker with 3 options: green (a good day), yellow (not the best but we tried) and red (tough day).
The idea being that over time you will see that there are plenty more green than red days - ideally!
We've had a string of yellows with the occasional red interspersed over the last few weeks.
But recently we had a little run of green days. We've had the Easter break which has probably helped. It meant more downtime, less rushing around, and more time to play games and train.
We had a couple of great walks with my friend and her dog where George did really well.
We've been fortunate with avoiding triggers.
We've been visiting familiar Sniffspots and a brand new one.
We're also 3 weeks into taking Sertraline which may also (hopefully) be helping.
We had one day which was a little challenging. It was a work from home day and he was finding it very difficult to settle. He paced and barked at every little noise. It was a particularly noisy day with lots of neighbours coming and going.
But more recently, he's been much calmer in the home office. He's been doing really well with looking at me when there is a noise rather than instantly reacting. Most of the time. We still have occasional big reactions of course.
He's made me laugh a lot this week.
One morning, he went downstairs before me. As I entered the living room, I couldn't see him but I could hear his tail thumping against the floor.
"Where are you buddy?" I asked and the tail thumping (from behind a chair) got louder. It seemed like he was playing hide and seek 😆
I continued the charade for a while and he was very excited and pleased with himself. Every time I got nearer, the tail thumping got louder.
A little break from the hectic routine allowed us to slow down, reset, and just have fun together.
At the risk of jinxing it and knowing that there will be yellow and red days to come, I very much enjoyed our little run of green days.
